When I was in college, the teacher broke us up into a couple of groups -the classroom.
And each group had to make a presentation on something… and everybody had to speak.
Whatever it was on… everybody had to speak.
And I was really shy and introverted –and I’ve always been shy and introverted and its going away, slowly but surely -its kinda like going away a little bit, little by little.
It’s something that I’ve been working but anyways, back to the classroom presentation.
When it was our turn to present, it wasn’t really clear on when I was supposed to speak, right… so there was this girl who was in charge of the little clicker -she had it.
She did the introduction and then on the next slide there was a chart of something, I remember –and she kinda just like stared at me…
Like telling me I was next -and I took the hint.
So then I looked at the classroom, and I looked at the board and this is what I said…
I was like: “Well as you can see here, you know -this chart pretty much explains how everything works and its pretty self-explanatory…”
And then I just stopped talking.
And it was like a little awkward moment there for a second –and it took a little bit of time for the girl to realize that I wasn’t gonna keep talking.. so she just kinda looked around and she just went on to the next slide, you know.
Sometimes you’ll be somewhere where you’re a little bit uncomfortable, or there might be an awkward silence, or it might be awkward -something right there…
And its actually a good thing because you’re growing.
And I’ve always been through these certain situations in my life where its been awkward and its been a little bit uncomfortable but that’s –its where you grow.
The next time that happens, its not as bad -and you just keep getting more comfortable with whatever it is you wanna keep on doing.
Just one thing to keep in mind.
Sometimes you wanna share your opportunity with other people but you’re afraid of what they might say…
Or you’re afraid to start sending out emails because you’re afraid of that spam button…
Or you don’t wanna show your opportunity to your friends and family because maybe you don’t believe in what you’re selling –But that’s a whole other thing.
If you don’t believe in what you’re selling, you should probably sell something else.
